Statistics: Russia’s inflation falls to 2.09% March 5–11
MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation decelerated to 2.09% in the week from March 5 through March 11 from 2.22% in the previous week, and reached 5.62% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
The sugar prices rose by 12.76%, dry milk for infants by 4.07%, salt 3.04%, rice and buckwheat by 2.7% and 2.74% respectively.
The prices for fruit and vegetables grew by 4.8% on average, including the price for bananas and tomatoes that rose by 11.3% and 12.3%, respectively. The prices for carrots grew by 3.4%, cabbage 2.8%, apples 2.6%, onions 2.3%, potatoes 1.9%, beets 1.6%. At the same time, the prices for cucumbers decreased by 1.2%.
The prices for gasoline and diesel fuel decreased marginally.
